Natalie is buried in this S.C. chapel
Natalie Delage Sumter instructed her children to build a chapel (above) on her Stateburg plantation following her death in 1842. She is buried under the chapel, which today is in General Sumter Memorial State Park in Sumter County, South Carolina. Nearby is the grave of Revolutionary War Gen. Thomas "Gamecock" Sumter.
